  And we had snow for the holidays but now it's just real windy and raining.

  When I was going to "The Hall"..I was usually the last to find out anything!..It was usually old news before I heard about it.

  I would have loved to have a site like this a long time ago. I would have left the JW's a lot sooner!

  Biblical Unitarians?

  does anyone have any experience or knowledge of biblical unitarians?

  i've looked at their website and was surprised at how many beliefs they have in common with jws.

  they seem to be kind of like bible students without the wacky pyramid stuff and the dates.

  When I first encountered the JW's (1958) they sometimes referred to their religion as "The Way". Hummmmmm?

  And of course "The Truth"...

  The first thing I remember is my soon to be hubby said his Mother told him to tell me they didn't celebrate Christmas. She said I would run the other way. I didn't. We later married and stayed married for over 40 years before he passed away...I don't think she ever forgave me for not running away....

  Prostitution and Marijuana

  i feel that as a country we waste so much time and money fighting prostitution and marijuana use.

  not that i think these things are something everyone should use, but the fact that we make these illegal and yet other things happen that are the same thing, or worse.

  for example, in nevada, outside the city limits, it is legal for prostitution.

  Oldflame...do you know how much the authorities get when they make a major drug bust?..It would far outweigh any petty tax amount if it was legal. They can seize all the proceeds..and they will find them..and any property the distributor has. Which would at least be in the millions.

  They also alter their sentence so they are back out in a few years.

  The ones that are arrested for a joint or two usually get a stiffer sentence.They can't make any money off of them..lock um up!

  My son had vision problems when he was in Kindergarten. I took him to a eye dr which prescribed glasses. He also had allergies for which he got weekly allergy shots. He still had allergy problems so I decided to try a chiropractor.Well he prescribed vitamin A and D for my son.A high dosage that could only be used for a short time.

  His allergy problems disappeared!..

  And when he went back for his eye check-up..his vision problem disappeared also!..No more glasses!

  He is in his 40's now and although he does wear glasses now..his allergies are gone.He was allergic to cats among other things and now him and his wife have 3 of them. No problem!

  Amazing!

  Snoozy...ps..the chiropractor said when you take vitamins you need to do it with some food that contains that vitamin to make it work better.

  I thought the property was worth "Billions?". Weren't they selling it to someone for "Highrises?".

  I read the WTBTS owned most of the waterfront property and was buying more property around the Brooklyn Bridge?.

  how can a prison inmate obtain personal copies of the magazines?.

  if the congregation caring for the preaching work at a penal institution can supply the magazines to inmates confined there, then an inmate should obtain his personal copies of the watchtower and awake!

  Well it's a well known fact that people in prison "Find God".

  I would say they are getting desperate? Maybe the door to door work isn't working anymore?

  Isn't that discrimination?..Why can't others have the "Great" priviledge of getting a subscription?

  I'm offended!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  Last I heard they were hiring someone else to do their printing. They sold off a lot of their printing supplies . I'm pretty sure they sold some buildings too but I didn't keep up on which ones.

  I'm sure if you do some searching about the WTBTS you can find some info...

  small children seeing ghosts and hearing voices

  There is a lot to be said for the Power of suggestion.

  I think the child has seen or heard what she repeated from someone or something (TV..or other kids or even a relative or neighbor.)

  When my kids were little they heard all that JW junk and repeated it to their neighborhood kids. One girl has stayed in contact with my now adult children and they talk still about the bad

  people falling in the ditch . Bad people that are not JW's. She didn't tell her parents because she knew they would stop her from playing with them.

  She remembers the "Paradise Book" vividly. I bet she could have told some stories!..

  Maybe she overheard someone commenting about how you have changed? And changed it to "Not same Mommy?"

  JW relatives perhaps?

  And the one poster was right about the inconsistency...that can't be brushed off...

  All in all..I do feel that children are trying to tell us something in their own way if something is bothering them. They have their own way of telling us we may not understand. It could be something simple or it could be more serious. A checkup and a talk with a Dr may not hurt.

  First and last to legalize Xmas?

  i saw a statement about the first state to officially celebrate christmas so i looked it up to be sure.... first state to officially celebrate cristmas was alabama in 1836.. last state to officially recognize christmas was oklahoma in 1907.. didn't take long to catch on did it?.

  First state to OFFICIALLY celebrate Cristmas was Alabama in 1836.

  Last state to Officially recognize Christmas was Oklahoma in 1907.

  Didn't take long to catch on did it?
